Why Pilates is for you.

Pilates is a method of body conditioning and is unique, a system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed over ninety years ago by Joseph H Pilates.  It strenghthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind, and creates a more streamlined shape.

Pilates treats the body as a whole, not by isolating specific areas.  With a goal of creating balance within our bodies to help you look and feel good.

Pilates began developing his exercise system in the early 1900s.  He had Rickets and Asthma as a child and the Pilates method arose from his determination to strengthen his body and he called it 'The Art Of Contrology'  or the art of muscle control using the mind.

So why is Pilates good for you, EVERYONE can benefit from the Pilates method.  The movements and the mindfullness of Pilates helps to de-stress.  I teach people from all backgrounds and jobs and accross a huge age range! (some of my oldest clients are some of my best!) Many people say to me ' but I can't do it i'm not flexible enough.'  It doesn't matter we start by learning to breathe and add the movements into that,  Its about control and then strength and power as you advance.

Give it a go what have you got to lose.....

'In ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty you will see the difference, and in thirty you'll have a whole new body.'

Joseph H. Pilates
